What role does dad play in running the household??? 🤔

The previous post talked about the computer's wise and steady mom the Motherboard... 😌 who holds the whole household together… but! No matter how ideally mom manages the house until dad brings home the earnings and the full ration from outside... how will the kitchen stove even run? 🥸

When people head to the market to buy a new computer or laptop... all the love gets showered on the fussy kids the processor, RAM and graphics card… but dad, the one actually providing the real power and current the Power Supply or Battery gets ignored like... it's some spare unnecessary part! The result? Later when even a minor power surge hits, a system worth two and a half lakh rupees starts smoking like a tandoor! 🤦 Because no matter how big a champion the processor or graphics card is… it's dad who supplies them the clean steady electricity to run. Taking the risk of a local power supply here is like swinging an axe at your own foot! 🤓

First… the entire ration is in the Battery's hands… so instead of trusting the shopkeeper's claim of "6 hour backup," always check the battery's Wh, i.e., watt-hours... Battery Health... fast charging... the charger's Watts, and whether the battery can be replaced later or not these must all be checked… to put it simply for normal use 45Wh to 55Wh is essential, and for heavy load, at least 70Wh to 99.9Wh is needed, and yes 99.9Wh is the legal limit... keep in mind a laptop with a bigger battery than that can't be taken on a plane... similarly, if buying a second hand laptop, only take one with battery health above 80%... and also make sure the laptop charges to 50% within 30 to 45 minutes... and the charger should be at least 65W but if a heavy graphics card is installed, a 130W to 240W+ charger is essential otherwise the laptop will start draining the battery instead during work... 🥰

If you're a PC user (power supply guide)

Second… when getting a PC never go for a local or unbranded power supply... always check the official tag on the box confirming it has an 80+ rating… if the budget is tight go Bronze… a bit more, Silver… more than that Gold… and if the budget is wide open, get a Platinum certified power supply... that's the true guarantee of protection...

Similarly choose the power supply's Watts according to your parts... if the machine has a powerful graphics card installed at least a 650W or 750W power supply is a must... otherwise the moment heavy rendering starts dad will give up, and the system will pass out... 🥱
